Our quiet comfortable 3 bedroomed cottage lies on the hillside overlooking the beautiful Penpol Valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty only 1.5 miles to Fowey. The cottage is south-facing with a patio and enclosed garden. It is ideally situated for coastal path and nearby coves. The cottage is child, baby and dog friendly. Convenient for The Eden Project, Lost gardens of Helligan and several N.T.Properties and Cornish Gardens. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to provide a comfortable and relaxing holiday for up to 6 people and a baby. It is on the east side of the Fowey River Estuary. This is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of South Cornwall, with stunning views and lovely walks from the cottage. One of our favourites is along Penpol Creek where you can see several species of ducks and other water birds. Sometimes migrating geese can be seen and heard in their hundreds. It is an ideal location for walkers and their dogs. Sky T.V. including Sport. Internet. An oval pool approximately 6m by 3m with a solar cover is available in July and August. The patio has rattan patio furniture, sunloungers and a barbeque. Its an ideal place to relax and enjoy this peaceful location. The nearest coves and beaches are a few minutes by car. Lantic Bay, one of the largest, enjoys a good safe beach sheltered by the cliffs behind. Access to Lantic Bay is a well worn cliff path.At low tide other more secluded coves can be reached from here. Lantivet, just along from Lantic Bay is a quieter but interesting cove. At low tide there is lots of pristine sand and rock pools for children to explore. Lansallos is another beautiflul cove. You arrive here following the old smugglers track that winds through a wooded valley from Lansallos Church. Between Lantivet and Lansallos is the tiny Palace Cove that enjoys the last of the evening sun. The car ferry, one and a half miles away, gives easy access to Fowey. In the summer Fowey is a bustling coastal town with a magnificent natural harbour visited by many yachts. It has lots of interesting restaurants and shops. The Fowey Regatta in August is a popular event as is the literature festival in May. The fishing villages of Looe and Polperro are also close by. Looe, has the usual tourist shops and restaurants including some good fish and chip shops. It has a sandy beach, reached by a walk through the town. You can also walk along the harbour side and watch the fishing boats.Children enjoy crabbing here. Polperro is a picturesque fishing village with lots of character cottages and a prettyharbour full of fishing boats. Lerryn, famous for its stepping stones and pretty riverside walks is only a few miles away. There are several pubs in the area serving good food. The nearest is The Old Ferry in at Bodinnick which is located just by the ferry to Fowey. It has a high level restaurant overlooking Fowey harbour.
